•Ukuhlanganisa

•Ukuncibilika
Uma impahla isihlanganisiwe ithunyelwa eziko ezikhethekile ezinokushisa okungaba ngu-1400°C. Ngokuvamile izithando zomlilo zihlukaniswa zibe izingxenye ezintathu ezinezinga lokushisa elihlukile.
• I-Fiberizaton
Ingilazi encibilikisiwe idlula esihlahleni esenziwe nge-platnum ekwazi ukumelana nokuguguleka enenani elinqunyiwe lezizinda ezinhle kakhulu. Izindiza zamanzi apholisa imicu njengoba ziphuma ehlathini futhi ziqoqwa ndawonye ngokulandelana ngamawindi anesivinini esikhulu. Njengoba i-tension isetshenziswa lapha, ingilazi encibilikisiwe idonswa ibe imicu emincane.
•Ukugqoka
Kusetshenziswa ingxube yamakhemikhali emiculweni ukuze isebenze njengesithambiso. Lesi sinyathelo siyadingeka ukuze kuvikelwe imicu ekuqhumeni nasekuqhekekeni njengoba iqoqwa futhi ihlanganiswe ukwenza amaphakheji.
•Ukomisa/ukupakisha
Imicu edwetshiwe iqoqwa ndawonye ibe yinqwaba, yenze umucu wengilazi owenziwe ngenani elihlukahlukene lemicu. Intambo iboshelwa esigubhini ibe iphakheji efana ne-spool yentambo.

Imicu yengilazi ivamise ukukhonjwa ngesistimu yesiko yase-US (isistimu yephawundi eyintshi) noma isistimu ye-SI/metric (TEX/metric system). Zombili zingamazinga okulinganisa aqashelwa emhlabeni wonke ahlonza inhlanganisela yengilazi, uhlobo lwefilament, isibalo somucu kanye nokwakhiwa kwentambo.

I-twist isetshenziswa ngokuyimishini emiculweni ukuze kuhlinzekwe izinzuzo mayelana nokumelana nokuhuzuka okuthuthukisiwe, ukucutshungulwa okungcono, namandla okuqina okuphezulu. Ukuqondisa kwe-twist kuvame ukuboniswa ngohlamvu S noma u-Z.
I-direction ye-S noma i-Z yentambo iyabonakala ngokuthambeka kocingo lapho ibanjwe endaweni eqondile.
